Welcome
Writing - the words and the spaces between - has its place as therapy and confessional
Writing has always been a way for me to get thoughts out of my head, which for me is the best way to make sense of them. Over the years I’ve had a number of blogs, each with a different focus. One blog focused on poems and lyrics that meant something to me. Another covered my reaction to milestone events in my life. Then there have been a handful of blogs focusing on my time as a baseball coach, technical posts tied to my work, and random thoughts about the world and technology.
Recently I stumbled across one of my old posts when doing some digital housekeeping and decided to track down the rest of my writings.
This was easier said that done. Over the years, I managed to misplace or delete a lot of my content from these old Joomla, Ghost, and Wordpress sites. I resorted to spelunking through the Wayback Machine to recover what I could. It was hit or miss, and there are huge gaps but I think I’ve managed to recover what I feel are the best posts.
I decided to put them back online because in the past I would occasionally get emails from readers about posts they had read and that had made them think, made them laugh, or resonated with them in some other way. Reading through these has been an interesting time for me; although some things have changed, a lot of the feelings and convictions I had ten to twenty years ago remain.
Addendum
There’s a high probability that you landed here thinking that you were going to be visiting a website for a lovely Manx printing shop. This is, alas, not that place. But you can head over to them at wordsandspaces.co.im. Tell them the guy who keeps forwarding their emails to them said hello.
